Strengthening Leadership to Support Ambitious Growth

Reflecting on the Group’s strategic direction, Group CEO Paul Cooper said:

“As ambitious third-generation family owners, we’ve recognised the importance of strengthening our team with the right expertise to help us scale. Bringing in Nick Gale as Group FD has already provided fresh perspective, enabling us to enhance our financial systems, improve cashflow management and strengthen our reporting structures.

“The appointment of Mervyn Ham as Group Chairman marks another key step in our evolution. His strategic insight and leadership experience will help guide The PTH Group from a family-led, multi-subsidiary organisation into a more professionally structured and strategically aligned healthcare group. This will support our ambitions to grow significantly over the coming years and position us to attract the right strategic investment as we continue to expand our vertically integrated platform.”

Bringing Extensive Experience Across Corporate Finance, Manufacturing and Healthcare

Mervyn Ham is a well-known figure within the South Wales investment community and brings a wealth of experience across corporate leadership, manufacturing and healthcare.

His varied background includes leading his own aerospace and automotive manufacturing businesses serving as Chair for children’s hospice Tŷ Hafan, and co-founding an e-commerce venture experience that aligns closely with the multidisciplinary nature of The PTH Group. He is also Chairman of Cardiff based 1st Choice Accident Repair Group.

Commenting on his appointment, Ham said:

I’m looking forward to helping the businesses take the next step, supporting governance, refining strategy and contributing towards sustainable long-term value creation as the Group continues to grow its presence across the UK healthcare sector.”
